100% of CO² emissions has been offset and certified by Ecocert Environnement. What does this mean?
In order to qualify for the top label, all of the CO² emissions generated in the production of Guala Closures 30x60 DIVINUM screwcaps (from 1 May to end December 2011) have been fully offset. This means that the 30x60 DIVINUM screwcaps have zero carbon impact. To achieve this eco-virtuous [practice], Guala Closures Group has embarked on a sophisticated and innovative offsetting program - working towards the ecosystem restoration of a coastal rainforest in Costa Rica. This not only involves planting dozens of rare forest trees - needed to create an ecological corridor for species movement - but also educating the local community and industries in how to be sensitive to their native species and involving them in the reforestation work.
